A storm swept in over Llanddarog last night, scuttling our plan to visit a local castle this morning. The world is utterly shrouded in gray mist and it’s cold and wet but weirdly beautiful.

So my co-author Eunice has suggested I should make these as earrings; I have a CNC machine with a fourth axis attachment. Seriously considering it. Maybe necklaces too.

There’s a certain kind of charm you see in many European villages that’s only possible in towns that pre-date the automobile. It’s a lovely but frequently frustrating kind of charm.

Gentlemen, and ladies who swing that way, find a woman who will explain deep video game lore to you whilst your face is between her legs. Just trust me on this.

We’re at the wedding venue. The good news is it’s no longer raining; the bad news is the rain has turned to hail. Also, one of the brides is delayed as her car rolled over in a ditch. She’s okay, but apparently her boots are not, I hear? All in all very on theme for a chaosbunny!

This place is just…everywhere I look, there’s another little corner of unexpected beauty. I was getting into the shower and I had to stop and get my camera, with the water still running, to grab this moment.

There. Is. No. God.

The view from the bedroom I’m sharing with my Talespinner. This place is surrealisticly beautiful. Like, I’m in the fae world or something, no way is this real.

Driving here is an interesting experience. “At the roundabout, take the 14th exit onto Morgoth Lane toward Cwynnrithgallanrthm. Mind the sheep.”

Nights like this make me wonder how I ended up in a Tesco’s in Ammanford at half ten at night in the driving rain. The life path that led me here is so strange it wouldn’t be plausible enough for a made-for-Netflix movie.

Wales is fucking BONKERS, y’all.

A: What comes after having sex with a woman for the first time?
A: Writing a novel with her, of course!

(I jest, I jest. I’ve worked on a novel with a lover DURING sex on at least four occasions.)

There’s something about this sparkly tree outside Heathrow Terminal 2 that delights me. (That’s not a reflection in the glass, btw, it’s another tree inside the building. In the wild, sparkly Christmas trees will remain close to the nest well into adulthood.)

On the Elizabeth line heading to Heathrow to pick up my wife. My Talespinner is playing Zelda on a Nintendo DS and man, watching over her shoulder with zero knowledge of the game is a trip. (Apparently she’s inside a giant fish rn? With a princess on her shoulders?)

Good morning, London!

I'm old.

If you're not, listen to this.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.

My Talespinner slipped a pomegranate seed into my mouth without my awareness, thereby binding me to her for one month out of the year.

The second seed, though, is entirely on me, 💯%.

I am sitting in a charming little restaurant with my Talespinner and my crush, eating exquisite food and discussing whether Hades was the kinkiest of all the gods, and man, I am just filled wall to wall with overwhelming joy.

Still waiting for our bags. This photo reminds me of a poem by Warsan Shire.

London has welcomed us into her cold and damp embrace. Now we need only navigate customs and the Underground, and a sweet sweet bed is singing its siren song.

Oh my god, y’all. They announced our connecting flight from Atlanta to London was boarding JUST AS OUR PLANE TOUCHED DOWN IN ATLANTA. We made it by the skin of our teeth. I’m still out of breath.

We leave for London in a few hours, so my Talespinner and I are playing everyone’s least favorite game: Will Our Luggage Pass TSA Without Causing a Ruckus? On today’s episode: Rope, EL wire, and HR Giger alien nipplesuckers.

I suck at regex. Two or three times a year, I find myself in a position where I’m like “regex could do this task in half a second but it’ll take half an hour to brush up on enough regex to do it, or half an hour to just make the changes by hand. What to do?”

Today is that day.

Me: *is in middle of kinky threesome*
Me: *Gets idea for next chapter of one of the novels I’m working on*
Me: “’Scuse me, terribly sorry, gotta go write.”

My Talespinner’s dog Havoc has been gnawing himself, so he was sentenced to Doggy Pajamas. He ran to me for help, and seemed quite hurt I didn’t prevent this travesty, and sulked for the rest of the day. (Personally I think he looks rather cunning!)
