I think its fine to support proper, well-made remasters where they exist. The new FFT is incredible, and if more companies put forth the effort into preserving their own past, there might be an argument to the contrary. Until then, we'll do it ourselves.

Remember, it is ALWAYS morally correct to emulate old games. If you're sitting around, waiting for some mega-corp to re-release or preserve one of your favorites / some timeless classic, then you're a fool. Left up to them, you'd only play what's new.

The only reason games aren't "forever" is because they refuse to preserve them. I can buy a film from 1939 in 4K but fuck me if I wanna play Twilight Princess on my Switch.

working on an arcade stick display you can add to obs! took a bit to get transparency working and i still need to make the buttons glow brighter when pressed and change them to be rounded instead of just reusing my key display sprites but pretty good day 1 progress :)

Over my career, I'd never had the chance to talk to Tomonobu Itagaki, but he was someone who'd always fascinated me. (In part due to our shared public "hate" for Tekken.)

Last year, I reached out to him out of the blue, and he was incredibly kind and friendly.

I'm now really glad I did. RIP

This is a tough one for me because I can certainly acknowledge that the bad games that I've finished are are actually bad, but also they fucking whip ass. Still better than most of the slop churned out by AAA studios.
