Been (re-)playing TMNT Shredder's Revenge since Marvel Cosmic Invasion comes out soon and it really is a tightly constructed little brawler but
I really, REALLY hope the "every character has 10 levels that unlock attacks and every character needs to be leveled separately" thing does NOT reappear

One is the annoying things with the difficulty discussion around Souls games is that they HAVE diegetic difficulty relief valves and the fandom pretends they're like an accident
Fromsoft players are like... damaged. Speaking as someone who loves the games, the community is insufferable in their attitude that the game has a "right" way to be played. (Probably born from the "Its so hard!" circle jerk early coverage/marketing of DS1 spawned)
