Small farms are getting priced out of the system.

They’re forced to pay hundreds, even thousands, a year for food-safety audits just to access wholesale markets. Big farms can absorb it. Small farms can’t. The Cutting COSTS Act fixes that by reimbursing those costs and leveling the playing field.

51 babies with botulism--and finally all ByHeart products recalled. The company has been harming infants since launching in 2022. Despite multiple bad inspection results, it still sold 200,000 cans a month. Needless to say, parents are suing.

Kids pick our fruits and veggies? Underage kids work in California's agriculture industry, some as young as 11. They go without shade, water, or proper breaks and are paid by the piece, less than minimum wage. Chemical exposure to pesticides too.

ICE raids on farms have a chilling effect on the labor force, leaving crops unharvested in the fields and supply chains disrupted. Agricultural employment dropped 6.5%. Replacing and retraining workers is costly and time-consuming for farmers. Those costs get passed on to you.

And the so-called “party of family values” gutted both programs by billions of dollars.

Doesn’t sound very pro-family to me.
