I went to take a couple of casts from the dock this morning before getting started with work, and got a nice 18” bass, but also found an invasive crayfish in my minnow trap that has not been documented for my county yet... Even when I’m off the clock, the invasive species find me… time to report

Pink salmon spawning in a tributary of the Skagit. Incredible to see in person; an astounding biomass. As a fish biologist too poor to visit Alaska, seeing a healthy salmon run (~1 million humpies in the Skagit this year) has always been a bucket list item for me. I could have sat there all day.🐟
