Reading letters from the Princess Liselotte of Palantine, the German sister-in-law of Louis XIV, and it's wild because she had this super informal writing style that almost sounds like modern texts

Like at one point she goes "wish to god my son didn't love holding chunks of bread like a peasant"

RIP Toni Lamond
Not only the first woman in the world to host her own Tonight Show (sitting in for Graham Kennedy) but also the first actress in the world to play a lesbian on TV (Number 96 where she was going to sacrifice Abigail to the devil)
What a career

Yesterday, a woman rang Biggsy on 3 RRR, explaining this: if a dollar equals a second, then
- $1 million = 12 days, and
- $1 billion = 32 years.

That’s one way to understand the difference between those two amounts of wealth. 🤯

I had the rare privilege of meeting and photographing the Living Goddess of Patan, Samita Bajracharya. Only eight years old, she was revered as the earthly embodiment of divine power within the sacred Kumari Ghar — a presence so potent that even a glimpse of her is believed to bring good fortune.

I hate the trope in stories where someone is a bad dad and husband but he does ONE heroic thing and is a big hero and everything is fine.

Like there probably won't be a big moment where you fight a dragon or a terrorist.

Go to your kids recital and learn their allergy list.

Just to be clear, life up here is hard. The day/night cycle is broken, the water is toxic, the power supply is fractious, the snow is aggressive, the bears are huge, housing is at crisis point and the hospital is under equipped.

It's also fucking magical and I wouldn't change it for the world.
