Caleb to Colston Loveland for a 58-yard touchdown, 0:17 seconds left.
There’s a regional rail pilot schedule on the Rock Island, as well as a new entrance at Racine.
There’s also removing the South Shore and Metra non-compete clause.
I am glad they included Racine green but a re-opened central station seems so weird. Unlike Racine green people weren’t clamoring for it, were they?
It’s jarring to get such a nice win.
Funding and awesome reforms is crazy.

Everyone’s talking about Illinois’ big transit bill, but here’s what you might’ve missed: it also eliminates parking mandates near high-frequency transit stops statewide! ✨🥳

What counts as high-frequency transit?
🚇 Within 1/2 mile of rail stations and bus hubs
🚍 Within 1/8 mile of bus corridors
One funding source that wasn’t discussed (but should’ve been) was a tax on commercial parking lots.
Frankly the entire map needs to be blue

Has the 3rd Ward lost it???

The pause just creates dangerous confusion over where lanes are (with concrete already being poured) and blocks access to Chinatown and Pilsen to appease a handful of Sloopers.
Funnily enough, I am planning on putting up thank you posters
I’m still in disbelief that transit funding and reform passed.

Now I guess I gotta go take down all my station posters.

FINALLY

Passengers shouldn’t have to worry about “non-compete clauses” when knowing what train to take, they should just be able to hop on a train headed to their destination
Rereading the transit bill language, saw a provision I don’t think has been discussed much. It forces Metra to ditch its noncompete agreement with NICTD, meaning you could take South Shore trains for trips that start and end in Chicago. I suspect Rep. Buckner added it. @starlinechicago.bsky.social

Listen they did but they got it done.

I can’t complain too much.
Today is a transit is the answer kinda day
I’m pretty sure at this point I could give a seminar on that line
And weirdly CN generally runs freight on track 2 and Metra on track 1.
Yeah I mean the NITA money well help but it doesn’t help that NCS is a mostly single tracked railroad.

On October 31, 1993, CTA opened a new 'L' line from the Loop to Midway-the first completely new 'L' line since the Dan Ryan Line (today's South Side Red Line) opened in 1969. 🍊
Did I hear someone mention the Metra line to ohare?

In celebration of SB2111’s passage this morning, here’s Metra 2111 passing me on departure from CUS.
