If the 3rd Doctor regenerates on Dust, then theoretically that means the 4th Doctor goes up against the spiders in Planet of the Spiders. So does that Doctor also regenerate at the end, meaning it's the 5th Doctor that ends up helping UNIT with the Giant Robot? What actually changes?

And let's not get into what would happen to the earth if, suddenly, every GPS signal died for 5 or 10 minutes and every computer on the planet went weird in that time (a global catastrophe that RTD usually saved for finales). It's overly sexed up (literally) and Smith is just a teenage 10th.

which starts the new Moffat tick box of "event the whole universe know about but the Doctor is clueless about". Random appearance of Ood in the "Earth is defended" scene. And a huge global event that seemingly no one will either refer to again or go "oh no not again" about when the sky goes dark.

aunt, a town that has a surprising need for kissograms (Amy can afford how many outfits?), awful CGI and green screen with Amy and Prisoner Zero in the hidden room. Oh yes, Prisoner Zero seems to know that the Pandorica trap will fail and knows about things that happen after the universe is rebooted

people walking past display boards that suddenly start displaying 0000s but not a single person seems to notice, utterly impossible time lines, the Doctor being more of a smug genius than ever before by doing utterly impossible things, a timeline and a geography that makes zero sense, the absent

The Doctor spitting out food, jokes about getting belled, a godawful version of the theme with the cotton wool time tunnel of terror as the titles... yeah, the episode really doesn't do it for me pretty much right from the word go. Then there's the weird blue lens flare

many possibilities that it's criminal they weren't explored. The Erimem's education works better than that of Leela and the admitting that other Time Lords also screw things up makes me want more of those stories too. It feels more other-worldly than teh 8th Doctor arc and is so much fun. 9/10

With a slight decrease in the level of insanity in the second half, the manic pace eases off a little as the plot kicks in more but it's still an amazing ride. The sign of a good story for me is that I want to revisit the world and Axis really opens up soooo
