Hilarious but also baffling that Party Studies would be founded to study the literary depictions of parties instead of actual partying. It would take half a decade before the founding of a Society for Empirical Party Studies, SEPS, which would be just as fun as it sounds.

I'm giving a talk today about clapping with instances of audiences clapping at the "wrong time" during a concert (misreading or deliberately tricked by the musician's body language). It's an effort to resist!

you guys make it sound simple, but it's not that consistent. They break weird or are misshapen or still, even in the snapped back position, sneakily scrape your nose. Already i can't drink easily from travel mugs and coffee cup tops. Justice for the long-nosed!

There are at least a half dozen attachment designs and some are much worse than others, like making it harder to pour cleanly or close again. Maybe the market will find it's way eventually.

New York was where i came out, where i found acceptance from people of all walks of life, and where I learned how to live with dignity despite others' disrespect.

This trans community gave me hope, but we need more than hope and our own convictions to be safe. We need allies like this.
