i kinda wonder what will happen with remco's junior team. it's fully riding UCI races and has won kbk for juniors this year for instance so it isn't some local project anymore

i know that with quickstep it was no issue but switching to redbull the licenses etc seem like a hassle

i'm following the NY mayoral election bc it's the first non right wing democrat (by EU standards) & all it told me is that rich people have no rules to follow

no police to do the lead steward job, sometimes volunteers have to be 'imported' from neighboring countries, no respect for closed roads, barely any races despite having a great history in cycling and having multiple aliens of the sport (in both gender cats)

the only thing we can really realistically do is hope that there is some form of resistance in venezuela & a max amount of US soldiers get wounded and preferably killed. dead soldiers is the only thing that gets an american to maybe consider not supporting their wars (see vietnam, iraq/afghanistan)

the US has learned nothing from iraq and afghanistan. it keeps on couping and invading the world for resources and massacring civilians while using the native government as an excuse

and there is nothing we can do but pray for crumbling of us society and mass us soldier casualties

the only limitation UAE will have next year is that they can't attend every single race just because a WT team can only field around 30 rider. but pog's domestique's are guys who could win gt's, stageraces & onedays themselves so it's 100% possible they'll break 100 victories next year easily

for me it's not depressing that UAE has just overwhelmed cycling & we basically only have 3 teams winning in 1 year w/uae, visma & alpecin in spring (although that's also nay fun). it's that there is ZERO indication it'll turn around for 2026 and beyond

the opposite actually, it'll only get worse

imagine if jasper had stayed at UAE, they'd be winning pure and classic group sprints as well. 😭sure, he wouldn't have had mathieu and the belgian chat GPT riders as leadout so his wins would be slightly lower but he'd still be a top 3 sprinter just like now

i think it's very on par for the US that in a moment where the country is crumbling into a dystopic shithole, the failed aspiring democratic president harris is going on a book tour to get even richer while providing some vague slayyy lip service instead of actually helping the opposition to fascism
