Yesterday Alan & I had dinner downtown during the parade of lights b4 seeing Fortune Fiemster at the restored Plaza Theatre. To put it another way, we were exactly where we were supposed to be. My desire to represent my community comes from me actually being a part of the community. #carpetbaggers

2 National Guard troops stationed a few blocks from the White House have been shot and killed. The suspected shooter is in police custody. This is horrifying and unacceptable. There is no justifiable reason for men and women serving their country to be victims of such a tragedy.

Crime is down in our nation's capital but Donnie the Dictator is sending in the national guard to take over the city. He will do whatever it takes to distract voters from the Epstein files and his policy decisions that are negatively affecting the economy.

Trump's self indulgent golf trip wastes 10 billion in tax payer money. Grocery prices are still high and children are losing their health care. People did not vote to give tax breaks to the ultra wealthy, they voted for a better way of life. Ken Calvert is not delivering. It's time for change!

Republicans are cowards. They're taking part in covering up Trump’s involvement with one America’s most notorious criminals. They're not solving problems they were elected to fix. Prices have not gone down! We need new leaders who work for the people of their district. Americans want change!

The firing of 1400 employees at DOE will have massive impacts: delayed dispersement of federal funds, reductions in financial aid information, & weakened civil rights protections for students facing discrimination & sexual assault. Eliminating jobs while people's costs are still high is not helping.

The tragedy in TX is a reminder that the country needs NOAA & FEMA to help when natural disasters occur. But with Trump signing the evil piece of legislation, funding has been cut by 30%. More lives will be lost because Republicans chose tax breaks for the rich over the people who need help the most

We just saw Republicans pass a bill that would take away food & healthcare from their constituents in order to line the pockets of rich. They also voted to increase the budget of ICE - resulting in more kidnappings and unlawful deportations. The Age of Trump Tyranny is one step closer to reality.

The United States preemptively bombing Iran is unprecedented. This is a dangerous course of action by the Wannabe Dictator/President. The possibility of putting our troops in the middle of war and the international fallout that will happen will be a disaster both diplomatically and economically.

The ongoing conflict between Israel & Iran is distressing. I am in favor of any peaceful resolution before the conflict escalates. Congress must exercise its war-powers and protect innocent lives abroad. I am disturbed with Trump being cavalier & reckless about putting our brave troops in harm's way

I’m saddened & horrified about the shootings in Minnesota. Local law enforcement officials have called this “an act of targeted political violence.” Political violence is not the answer. It has no place in our country and we need to do everything we can to ensure this never happens again.
