This one was inspired by a folk tale from Yamagata prefecture, Japan. www.attaka-furusato.com/minwa/gb/yam...

Recently learnt that the fleurs-de-lys of the royal French arms were sometimes misinterpreted as toads so I wanted to try visualise how they'd look like #heraldry

MayMay Art / Cicadaa Art (www.instagram.com/cicadaa_art) very kindly accepted a commission from Caira and I for a fun portrait of Barnaby Jones Boots in her new style. She captured the essence of our sassy, chatty little "chaos rat" perfectly, alongside his favourite toothbrush. 😊

The coat of arms of the Duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel in full splendour above the entrance portal of Wolfenbüttel Palace. Heraldry dates back to the middle ages as a way of identification of different parties and dominions.

The blazon for the Calvert arms the flag is based on is "Quarterly first and fourth, a paly of six Or and Sable, a bend counterchanged; quarterly second and third, quarterly Argent and Gules a cross bottony counterchanged."

Knighting surcoat for a pal in my #larp!
The crown on the front is part of our kingdom #heraldry.
The stars on the back are our family heraldry, and the shield with wolves is his personal heraldry.
I incorporated northern lights and maple leaves (some pockets!), as he lives in #Canada.

Pretty chuffed with how this turned out! Particularly as I was teaching myself how to use Inkscape as I went along.

@kiwivexart.bsky.social, to balance Chadwick's heraldic pizza: proposed Royal Arms with an elephant (for India) and an inescutcheon representing "the several Dominions and Crown Colonies." A sunny Kiribati or British Columbia vibe? #vexillology #heraldry

With the passing of Queen Elisabeth and the subsequent change many flags and emblems had to go trough in the commonwealth, the "King's Harbour Master", an office which works as a supervisor of all Canadian harbors also changed their flag.

Instead of Uranus's gold-iron symbol for I used a circular cloud with sunrays hinting at the mythological Uranus's association with the sky

The four inner planets and Neptune were pretty straight forward as their planetary symbols are easily turned into heraldic charges. I didn't want to use the monograms of Jupiter and Saturn so I picked Zeus's eagle for Jupiter and a sickle for Saturn.

#Žemalė #Lithuania was granted new #coatofarms & #flag featuring wolf tracks honoring men who defended manor from wolves. The black shield nods to Latvian word for 'land,' reflecting village’s forest-cleared origins. #heraldry #vexillology
