This painting is inspired by my road trip through Germany before arriving at my new home in Sweden. I loved the modern wind turbines juxtaposed against the old buildings.

Ich besitze eine neue Jacke, also habe ich die Taschen meiner alten ausgeleert. Was ich in meiner Jackentasche so hatte:
Zwei Kugelschreiber, Kastanie, Eichel, Stein, Tannenzapfen, Hundeleckerlies, Haargummi und das Band von der Kapuze... Ähm ja.

Von keiner anderen Spinne habe ich so viele Bilder wie von der Wespenspinne (Argiope bruennichi)🥰

Liegt wahrscheinlich daran, dass die leicht zu finden und relativ groß ist🤭

Spooky season approaches, so I'm going to repost some of my Halloween comics from years past.

A four panel comic called Happy Halloween From The Birds. In panel 1, a pileated woodpecker has pecked its huge gaping rectangular holes in a pumpkin. In panel 2, a yellow-bellied sapsucker has pecked a face using its standard rows of small holes. In panel 3, a satin bowerbird has carved a pumpkin into a bower and placed its favorite blue candies all around it. In panel 4, a loggerhead shrike has impaled mini pumpkins on a fence's metal spikes and is saying "fight me."

Last night I watched over 100 pelicans feed just off the coast after sunset. Here's one of them. 17 frames taken from a sequence of 44 over 2.5 seconds. Incredible dinosaurs!!! 🪶

Manchmal bin ich auch so ein Anfänger. Wenn der Nachbar fragt, ob mensch* Quitten möchte, dann sagt mensch* nicht ja, ein paar. Sondern eine Kiloangabe. Ich bin nun stolzer Besitzer von fast einem halben Zentner Quitten... Ich, die kein großer Fan von Quittensaft, -marmelade und ähnlichem ist😂

Ich finde rein rechnerisch bereits die Existenz von Drittel-Hybriden faszinierend. Vorallem, wenn wir die Annahme treffen, das Drittel-Hybriden wirklich 1/3 Hybrid sind, denn viel wahrscheinlicher wären 1/4 Hybriden. Dauert nicht so viele Generationen.
