Here’s my hot take hill: would’ve saved the world a lot of trouble had these dipshit loser tech bros been exposed to the concept of outsider art in elementary school.

I am charmed by just about every one of the Japanese mascots I’ve seen but this one? I feel like we could be besties. 💜
Akkuma, a devilish purple bear from outer space who has settled in Hokkaido, rocks out.

Never fear, friends; I have declined all spurious invitations and shall never give you away even in exchange for pie. Such is my love for you all.

Couple years ago I posted this while watching the Thanksgiving day dog show saying “This wire fox terrier looks like the husbands of half the straight women I know via old punk rock message boards.” and was promptly unfriended by two of them so you /know/ I wasn’t lying.

Imagine being a little kid and this is a relative’s guest room and you gotta sleep on top of a boogieman’s door?

Staples (copy center) — once a woman picked up 3 teams of card stock that were bound together sitting on my work counter and hurled them at me when I was elbow deep in the copier fixing a jam because I said, “one moment, I’ll be right with you” & that wasn’t good enough.
What Retail store yall worked at? (Feel like that was everyone’s first job)

Brothers, is it Quay to physically manipulate objects in small increments between individually photographed frames so that they will appear to exhibit independent motion or change when the series is played back?

I feel like the folks lobbying for these impossible requirements _want_ to kill small independent websites. They would prefer it if we didn’t have voices or ways to share information outside of the big names in the industry.

And we _need_ to regain the wider online ecosystem we used to have.
I have a fun hypothetical for the technical among us! (For certain values of fun, heh.) The scenario: You run a website. It doesn't have a mobile app: the only way to access it is in-browser. You are deeply, morally opposed to any form of invasive tracking or data-gathering on your users.

This week I am watching all the Lone Wolf and Cub movies and I am such a fan of this particular style of blood splurting effects. Perfect.

Dunno if I believe in coincidences however I _did_ get a Pyramid Collection catalog in the mail a day after rewatching Gypsy 83 last week, so who can say?

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

Went to LinkedIn to make sure I’d already done this and scrolled around my feed there for the first time in ages and ugh—less than ten minutes of that and I want to pop my head off and shake the memory out of my skull.

Trick-or-treat was too windy and rained us out (or back in) after an hour of cold, damp, and sporadic goblin visitors.
But happy Halloween anyway! Hope yours is fun and warm.

Reading through my personal inbox, frowning: The concept of “spooktacular” has been stretched so widely it’s become meaningless.

I don’t even care about Bill Gates’s opinions on ~computers~. Who is asking him about things? Don’t talk to rich people.

I don’t wanna stream music, I wanna listen to friend-made mixtapes on the little red boombox I got for my 8th birthday. This isn’t nostalgia—I just like my friends’ recommendations & hate my listening habits being tracked & sold.

It’s such a bummer when there’s a newsletter I’m interested in but it’s on substack. Must be missing some new dog whistle, I guess. Not sure what I stumbled into but time to close the tab and clear my browser history.

They’d be gathering the pitchforks and trying to figure out how to arrest this guy if he was a different color and had ink from a li’l gang streak back innaday. But this mfer won’t even stop lying about it and they’re ok with both lies and Nazi mfers. Parteiadlers of a feather.

More specifically: “Now add some AI”

Oooh! Highlights recently released a whole book of hidden pictures for “grown-ups and big kids” and I reckon a bunch of my mutuals would be into it too. 🔍👀 I was obsessed with these.
