Yup. So if you don't spend, say 100 days a year in your second home you must build an equivalent sized home in the area.

That would either kill the second home market stone dead or provide loads of new homes.

It would be an issue for me as I don't spend 100 days / year in my house.
That's fair enough. Holiday homes are a daft idea and price locals out of the market.

I reckon if you're gonna buy a holiday home, you should be made to build a home for a local in the area you want your holiday home in.
If Farage gets to number 10 it'll be down to other parties refusal to call him out on his bullshit, and Labour's adoption of Brexit as if it's a good idea.

If Labour etc don't pull their finger out they'll have a Farage govt and nobody to blame but themselves.

FPTP doesn't seem an issue for Reform
My mum was born in Caernarfon, I can trace her Welsh ancestry back over 600 years, all in Wales.

She's not lived in Wales since 1959.

I'd quite like to live in North Wales, but don't have a Welsh accent so would no doubt be considered an Englishman taking a home from a local.
FPTP isn't great, but it is too often used as an excuse for not fixing things.
It seems obvious that there are two groups of people petrified of reversing Brexit.

Reform fans, because they're mad

Labour apologists, because they know it has to happen and when it does Labour will look incredibly foolish for their continuing role in prolonging and extending the Brexit damage.
It'll continue until people stop voting for Brexit supporting parties.

<Cue Labour apologists falsely pretending Labour aren't Brexiters[
They can't slag off something they're fully committed to through Starmer's lunatic red lines.
Lunacy.

Labour really have lost the plot.

It's time for Starmer to abandon the race to keep up with the economy-sapping immigration policies of the man who brought us Brexit in the first place. Until he takes that step, the “severe and long-lasting” impact of leaving the EU, identified by Reeves today, will only keep getting worse.

The Chancellor just admitted that Brexit has been an economic disaster. It's time the Government stopped making it even worse by imitating Nigel Farage's damaging anti-migration agenda, argues Adam Bi...

Actually trying to work out how I could possibly relocate to Ireland. Everyone has been so friendly, it's like a massive Liverpool.
I'm currently in Ireland.

Lovin' it, enjoying being in a friendly EU member state with all the gloriously brilliant things that involves.

Not wanting to return to UK.

The sad thing is, as they've shown with Brexit, Reform simply don't care how many lives they ruin. They work for oligarchs and billionaires. The wellbeing of anyone else is firmly last on their list.

It was 10 years ago that an almost unanimous collective of Economists, Religious leaders, Scientists, even the then President of America said the UK would be worse off if it left the EU.

Yet the UK left the EU

A loss of £40 billion 2019-24 (OBR)

Brexit will continue to be bad for Britain.

Why is the UK appeasing China to get a trade deal?

Why will there be tax rises in the budget?

Why is growth non-existent?

Oh yes, 4% hit on GDP becsuse of #Brexit

Let's be honest about it and #RejoinEU - to hell with Farage

Farage’s claim that he was the “only one” in Reform UK who knew Gill contradicts the information @bylinetimes.bsky.social has received from former MEPs that Gill and Tice worked closely together during the Brexit Party era.

Brexit working out exactly as predicted for the parties that support it.
That's how Labour functions.

Slag off everyone else, then when caught doing the same as them find something from 10/15/20/25 years ago that's 'unforgivable' and call their supporters for everything.

It's all diversions. No policies, just 'vote for us or they'll get in".

Wankers.
Mail being the Mail.
"Polanski slammed” reports the Daily Express. The person doing that “slamming” is, err, Daily Express journalist Carole Malone.

And the reason? Because I want us to follow a science led public health approach to regulate drug use.

This is one of hundreds of TikTok videos used by "Arka Wealth" to market a scheme to avoid all UK and European taxes.

Small detail: it had no chance of succeeding, and in many countries would constitute criminal tax fraud.

What happened after we reported on it?
If I lived in Wales I'd more likely than not vote Plaid.

Reform, Tories and Labour are all Brexit supporting parties.

Nobody sane should ever vote for a Brexit supporting party.
Looks like the Labour vote has pretty much collapsed as well.

They lie about the ECHR.
Just like they lied about Brexit. Claiming if we just got rid of that ‘European’ thing, we’d be free, we’d have control, all our problems solved…
It’s NOT TRUE.
We’d inflict more chaos on ourselves and torch our own human rights framework for NOTHING.
For liars.
Again.
The European Convention on Human Rights is being misrepresented in the UK, says former Supreme Court President Lady Hale👇
