was honestly really refreshing to see a well thought-out, well-rounded action/suspense movie (I think it counts as a thriller??). The plot is a bit unrealistic but internally consistent and the tension had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

It’s kinda clumsy in structure and storytelling, like they tried to cram too many plot lines in each season and as a result any suspense they build, they destroy immediately the very next episode. And many plot lines don’t quite make sense bc they don’t take the time to establish +

Word count has been pretty low this year so far, idk how I managed to hit 100k last year, 2025 will be less than 50k for sure. Maybe I was possessed once or twice lollll.

I also don’t like that the narrative tries to handhold us through realizing that Morpheus is changing. Like. It’s pretty obvious. Characters don’t need to point it out every second.

And some plot beats were obviously rushed and as a result lost a lot of impact, in particular the Orpheus flashbacks.

their contacts with humanity and become more empathetic and compassionate… I suppose the message deep down is “you can’t help but love the people you know” and sure that’s a beautiful message but it’s pretty vapid when you think about it (and also not always true).

cinematography is nothing to write home about imo. The special effects are better in S2 but there are still some flimsy ones, the real problem is they’re a pretty wrapper for a story that feels like it lacks a coherent narrative and a message.

There are many times where we found ourselves asking “but why?!?” in relation with character actions, as there were more obvious solutions *right there* and the show didn’t do a good job of showing why the decision of the characters made sense. And in general the +
