Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

Michael Prescott's report makes vital points about the importance of being accurate, and also how difficult that is. For instance, he describes himself as having been Political Editor of the Sunday Times for 10 years, which is not what the Guardian reported when he left the job.

Good morning readers; Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands.

In the towns near Ukraine's frontline, Russian FPV drones hunt civilians, a new tactic called a "human safari".

Yana, who lives in Kherson, regularly sees these drones and the damage they cause.
Russia’s disturbing human ‘safaris’
Violating the laws of war, Russians have created a sick game of hunting civilians with FPV drones near the frontline. We take you behind the scenes, to the people most affected.

Remembrance is an important moment of the year when we show our support for our Armed Forces.

Wearing a poppy and supporting the #RoyalBritishLegion is one way to thank the Armed Forces for the sacrifices they continue to make to protect our freedom.

The Tories’ Dangerous Drift
In the U.K., a shocking proposal from a Conservative MP elicited pushback from her party only belatedly. It signals darker things to come.

Terrible news, the extraordinary Pauline Collins has left us for the cinema in the sky. She won't be "Shirley" to us, she will always be our "Sarah" following her breakthrough in Upstairs, Downstairs.

Just heard the news that Pauline Collins has passed away. I wonder if Shirley is still on that beach, drinking a glass of wine and staring into the sea? One of the original Liver Birds! RIP Pauline

🇬🇧 What's with "laundry list"? Who makes laundry lists? #LaundryList
Badenoch is thus far mainly castigating Reeves. She calls Reeves’ speech “a masterclass in managed decline” and “a laundry list of excuses”. As with last week’s outdoor speech a whole load of Tory MPs are here, and so we have a regular chorus of approving mutters and applause.

This reminds me of a 🇫🇮 Finnish war hero General’s experience during a Cold War visit to the UK. A 🇬🇧 counterpart supposedly asked him:
“So how many Soviet troops are currently in Finland?”
- “About 100,000”.
“Oh, so many? Where are they stationed?”
- “Along the Eastern border, 6ft underground.”
