We're going to overtime here at Ball Arena. A total of 6 goals scored in the third period. DU scored 4 of them, including one with 23 seconds left to tie it up. Boston Buckberger, who attended Avs dev camp last year, has the game-tying goal.

Avs/Canadiens all done, played some Ghosts of Tsushima on the handheld and now DU/Minnesota in under an hour. Long day at Ball Arena.

MacKinnon, Makar, and Necas are all top 10 in scoring, but now Landy has 6 points in 5 games and Brock Nelson has 11 in 9.

The Avs are, somehow, becoming even tougher to play against.

Avalanche stomp Canadiens at home as Landeskog hits his stride
Gabriel Landeskog doesn’t want to judge his play by the numbers, but it’s hard to ignore three goals in 24 hours, especially when he had just two over the previous 48 days. Led by Landeskog and Brock ...

Gabriel Landeskog has 3 goals in the last 24 hours and we're now getting a "Landy!" chant in Ball Arena.
November 29, 2025 at 10:22 PM
We have a Gabriel Landeskog deflection goal on the power play in 2025. Just like you all remember it.

7-1.

That is the first goal of the year for Devon Toews, as it goes in off Matheson.

Bednar said the other day that Toews' two-way game has been "quiet." They want him more involved offensively.

That lead pass by Makar to Landeskog was something special. Landy was still in the zone but Makar floated it so the captain could exit and enter in time. Landy shoots it off the pads and MacKinnon gets the rebound.

5-1.

#Avs Mackenzie Blackwood's shutout streak ends at 174 minutes, 31 seconds.
November 29, 2025 at 9:26 PM
And just like that, Brock Nelson is now on pace for 26 goals and 52 points on the year.

Majority of those points are at even strength, which is the key since he's not on PP1 anymore, at least for now.

Now Nelson gets his second of the game, but everyone in the building thinks it's a hat trick, so hats are raining down on the ice.

4 point afternoon for Nelson and we still have 36 minutes left in the game.

4-0
November 29, 2025 at 9:15 PM
The second goal has been changed to Gabriel Landeskog. Still 3 points for Nelson, but Landy gets his 4th goal of the season.

Goal stands and it's now 2-0. Anderson initiated the contact.
Either Nelson or Landeskog has scored, per the refs, but we'll see if this gets reviewed. Avs passing has been off today, but on their two goals, they've looked good.

For now, it's 2-0.

That was breakout perfection from the Avalanche. Makar to Toews to Kiviranta to Lehkonen to Nelson, and in the back of the net.

1-0

Blackwood has already made a few incredible stops going side-to-side. Avs a little sloppy to start this one.
November 29, 2025 at 8:18 PM
Ilya Nabokov’s game is starting to slowly trend up in the KHL. He’s got a .919 save percentage in his last 8 appearances.

He also has 3 assists in those 8 games, which matches Mikhail Gulyayev’s point total on the year (unfortunately).

3-on-3 overtime really kills the vibe. A lot of hold...hold...hold...and we're headed to a shootout.'

Worth noting Martin Necas was not in the Avs rotation for overtime.

That Landeskog goal was assisted by Nathan MacKinnon, which last happened February 13, 2022. They were linemates for years and I asked him in Nashville if it's like riding a bike where the chemistry just immediately returns.
November 28, 2025 at 11:06 PM
That was an incredible shift by Gabriel Landeskog. Best shift of the season.

Captain ties it at 2.

My math skills have the Avs shutout streak ending at 221:42.

Impressive. (The streak, not my math skills)

I quite enjoyed that halftime show.

Mackenzie Blackwood on the Avs selling out to block shots when the game was 5, 6-0.

“I fricken love that shit.”

Avalanche record their third straight shutout win. This one was a little different than the previous two.

It’s Thanksgiving and they’ve lost one game in regulation.

If my math is correct, the Avalanche have not given up a goal in the last 189:42.

What a play by Ivan Ivan to feed Kiviranta and make it 5-0. Caught the puck in his skates then sent it behind his back to Kivi.
