Hello new followers! I’m shocked by the quickness, but thankful you’re here to see my work.

This is HERMIT, my favorite painting.

A digital painting from the inside of a monster’s mouth. Angel, clad in nothing but gilded wings, attempts to free an old broken man from the inside of the maw. Teeth, tendrils, and pincers overlap, with fleeing pidgeons.

And here’s a lil timelapse of the process of painting this. I love Procreate! It’s helping me practice my in-head visualization. It’s not as concretely valuable as using references (please do!) but I love the experience of rendering the surfaces in my head to really comprehend the lighting.

first thing i drew and wrote after coming out of my month long brain haze:

a wall with bullet holes in the outline of someone with an obvious boner. misc bullet holes dot the rest of the cracked wall and a poem is written on the right side. it goes:

i’ll live my life stupidly and without any honor

i’ll never change for anyone, not even my mother

i’m standing right here with my big stupid grin

Working on an underpainting of Jerry from Evan Dorkin’s Eltingville Club as a more adjusted adult.

An early step of painting a portrait of Jerry from Evan Dorkin’s series “The Eltingville Club” as a well adjusted adult. Eyes closed, mouth wide open in smile, Jerry’s holding a hand of Magic cards in neat matte plastic sleeves that seem to glow in his hands. An additional back light source highlights the contour of Jerry’s head and shoulders. He’s held room in his heart for joy, and let it grow into a foundation of his life now.

Fun lil snake piece I did a coupla years ago. I start all my sketchbook works with ink directly, but with this one I started with the color marker. It was a fun exercise to visualize the bends and overlaps of the serpent before rooting them in with ink.
