I saw a performance metric placard like this in Chicago once and it just said “Go fuck yourself”.

Welp. Got my severance.

It’s not bad, and I still have a bit more coming as bonus.

Then I’m on my own.

I JUDGE SHAME TO THE THIRD GENERATION, upon the families of the AUTHORS, REVIEWERS, EDITORS, and DEPARTMENT CHAIRS of all in any capacity related to this paper.
Hey @nature.com, have you got an explanation for how the hell THIS happened? & especially why you accepted a paper with such a bizarre piece of genAI slop in it?!
& more to the point, why we should take you seriously at all going forward?

For some reason I have an image of cyclo-oxygenase in my wallet.

For those wondering - I last took biology as a freshman in high school in 1988.

Addendum to the rule that no one’s phone should ever make any noise in public:

No human should ever make noise at or into a phone in public.

102.5 miles for November. This run was faster and felt better than yesterday, with no warm up issues.

Humorlessness baffles me. Not even the "Don't joke about THAT," crowd, but people who seem to be completely unaware humor exists.

(Paraphrased and translated) quote of the day:

“I was at first grateful for the walls, which have me direction, but they have narrowed, and here is the trap I must run into..”

“You only ever had to change your direction.”

Colleague from a prior job just reached out and said quite bluntly:

Interested in a consulting gig with some work I have for you.

He’s a no nonsense leader with a clear vision for business. If he wants support? He’ll pay for it and know what he’s asking for.

Little 5k+ before my haircut. Boy, I feel great once I get going. But my warm up is slower and slower, and less and less pleasant. Intermittent, but annoying.

Stupid heart valve.

People fake their Strava posts all the time.
Why does Strava hit differently than other social media platforms? For the writer Steve Knoppe, the fitness app's data meritocracy "creates a sense that you are being measured against something concrete and real." nyti.ms/44lHglw

Hey @flscitriguy.bsky.social you up for Boulder or Hawaii 70.3 in May/June?

Yesterday I did 4x400yds at 7:20 pace, followed by 2x200 yds at 5:32 pace.

That 5:30min/mi is a full sprint for me.

Total was 4.5 miles in about 43 minutes, including my warmup, recovery, and cooldown.
