You may laugh, but the Macbeths are a much better role model for a marriage than Romeo and Juliet. They discuss their problems (killing the king of Scotland), share their hobbies (killing the king of Scotland), and resolve their conflicts (by killing the king of Scotland).

A bit silly, really; but a decent model

#Zillathon2026 4: Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964)
A solid kaiju classic that boasts a generally strong story with good themes, likeable protagonists, entertaining villains, and a skilful blend of serious and camp. Mothra's futile self-sacrificial battle against Godzilla is as tragic as it is hilarious.

I read a book. It was good
The Bookshop, the he Draper, the Candlestick Maker. Annie Gray, 2024.

A history of the high street, from it's early beginnings to the 1960s and beyond. Fun and accessible, and nostalgic towards the end. Recommended

A story about a Jewish family in Berlin as Hitler rises to power. Scary, because so many of the events and attitudes are playing out in modern day Britain and America

First new character of 2026! This is Galaxias, envoy of the Moon, and he's from the same universe as Gwen and Mulberry. I think I managed not to make him too overdesigned? Let me know what you think

#Zillathon2026 Gaiden: Gorath (1962)
Another sci-fi film about humanity coming together to fight an alien threat. Unfortunately, in spite of gorgeous model work, this one falls flat thanks to dodgy pacing, batpoop insane science, and the baffling inclusion of a giant walrus... for all of 5 seconds.

Following (1998)
Christopher Nolan's first film. A wannabe writer starts following random people for "inspiration". His naivety sees him sucked into a voyeuristic criminal scheme that doesn't end well.
Student film vibes, but pretty good.

The Key. Junichiro Tanizaki, 1961.
The blurb compares it to Lady Chatterley's Lover, and I suppose being embarrassing and voyeuristic, & featuring a married couple who REALLY need a chat about needs & boundaries, it kinda is.
