When this Havasu, AZ burro was with me for training, he was called Dilly. Unfortunately I can’t remember what the adopter named him. I found Dilly a girlfriend from a donkey rescue, as I didn’t adopt out solo burros. They are social animals and need another burro to bond with.

Echo was a beautiful maltese burro from the Black Mountain herd that lives a hardscrabble life along the CO in western AZ. Echo was abused by her original trainer & feared people. Her owner was unable to touch her or care for her, so I restarted her and she turned into a love bug.

BLU was a big blue roan burro, also from Alkalai Springs, NV. My friend photographed a wild herd of black + 1 blue roan burro in this area a year or so before BLM gathered them, and we believe this was BLU. BLU now lives with friends in AZ. #BurroPortrait

Karl was one of the quirkiest burros I ever gentled and I loved him. He came from NV where these solid black burros hang around Alkalai Springs. At first, he was a fearful kicker and biter with the slightest touch; then suddenly he did a complete 180* and became a total love bug.
