He/Him
Still true. Infighting between republicans over whether we should be viciously rounding up immigrants or allowing them to stay and work as a vulnerable underclass just reminds me that both sides of that debate are wrong. The enemy of my enemy is not not my friend.

Charlie Kirk’s death is like an unseasonably warm winter day caused by climate change. I know it’s part of a bigger issue we should address, I mourn all the people who have been hurt or killed by it, and I will continue to advocate for change.

But I’m also going to go outside and enjoy myself.

Dear @nytimes.com, can you please stop using bad-faith quotes from hacky Trump appointees to characterize your headlines?

“In a post on X, the agency’s administrator, Lee Zeldin, said that start-stop technology was just a ‘climate participation trophy’ for companies, and that ‘everyone hates it.’”

UBI will NOT cause runaway inflation!

In fact, it may be the strongest tool we have to fight it.

Here’s why the “UBI = inflation” fear is a myth, debunked point by point🧵

So can we call it a constitutional crisis yet?

The @nytimes.com just can’t help themselves, can they? Trump/Musk stripping your first amendment equal protection rights?

Yeah, well, some nameless college kids protested at an Exxon CEO speech once.

Harris’s “shape-shifting makes her emblematic of a party that was never deeply committed to the kinds of fights that have motivated its base to get into the streets and engage in politics. That doesn’t make her loss attributable to an excess of progressivism but to too flimsy an association with it”

Adult white and Black men are taller than Asian and Latino men by ~2” on average in the US. That confers an obvious advantage in basketball. Should we require they play in separate leagues?

Obviously not, but this is pretty much the same logic being used to keep trans people out of sports. 🏳️‍⚧️

Let's say there's "waste" and "fraud" in the government.

Well that’s why every department had an inspector general to find and stop it.

But guess what? Trump fired most of these independent auditors who should be insulated from politics.

None of this is about waste and fraud.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

My EI blog post today addresses the claim from CA's rooftop solar industry that the 2023 change in net energy metering rules devastated their business. State's DG database shows it didn't. Just pulled forward sales to beat the new policy.
