In Chile’s student protests in 2011 there was a dog wearing a red bandana that became a symbol of that movement, as well as a symbol for their 2020 protests against police brutality. In America we’ve apparently nominated a different member of the animal kingdom, and tbh I’m here for it.

As a straight white dude I’m totally fine not saying racial/homophobic slurs; I don’t feel as though I’m being censored or missing out on anything.
However it is a major bummer that I can’t say things like “hunty” without being laughed away from the brunch table 😔
