Lots of folks around Ansley Mall right now, and I'm not quite sure why! Largely younger people. Concert beginning or ending? Can't place what's going on. #atl #atlanta

This account often posts articles in one big burst at a time I don't usually see them. I'd love if they were spaced out throughout the day/week, if possible!

This retrograde holiday is a good time to coincidentally listen to a Native American US representative talk about the Constitution and how it sets up Congress

Come for the criticism of Trump, stay for the brutal takedown of Cuomo.

Mamdani: "Trump ran on 3 promises - punishment of his political enemies, easing cost of living crisis, & mass deportation. It's that second promise that brought so many to his campaign. And yet he's unable & unwilling to deliver bc he's beholden to the very billionaires that are profiting off of it"

Woke up early today for #atlanta #atl #bikebus in my neighborhood. I don't have kids, but I love supporting my neighbors to live in the city we want to see.
Me in the dark of a fall early morning in a cul-de-sac with my bike and helmet. My shirt says, "practice radical empathy". Photo from the middle of a neighborhood street going uphill at dawn. Kids and adults with tail and headlights ride in a scattered group.

In Super Smash Bros., the skeletons visible when characters are hurt by electric attacks are not tied to specific animations, and instead are a form that can be toggled on and off at any time, including in cutscenes. Below are excerpts of the game's intro, with skeletons.

Great reporting on a work of art with positive intentions that missed the mark. It makes total sense that a depiction of one of the hardest times in this neighborhood's history may not be what they want to see every day. #atlanta #atl #brownsville

SCOOP: Last year, Ubisoft cancelled an Assassin's Creed game set during Reconstruction. Was to feature a Black Assassin who, among other things, fought the rise of the Klan

Sources: Leadership nixed it over concerns re: U.S. political climate, backlash to Yasuke

"GOD IS GOOD FRIENDS, Ready to continue working double time from my land, that's what my God wanted. Thank you very much to ALL," he wrote in Spanish on his Facebook page.

"I don't get to draw the line" — you are a wildly influential journalist with an audience of millions, you absolutely do get to draw the line!
jmcunning.bsky.social
IMO, the most revealing part is Klein wrestling with the question of where "the line" is (between acceptable and unacceptable politics). Realizing that what he considered past the line is now the GOP mainstream doesn't make him commit harder to fighting it. He wonders if he needs to move the line.

And the story gets better when Jack's friend befriends the devil to get the riddle answers. An unexpected turn that I don't always see in other folk tales. Charming.

Love her story about Jack (from beanstalk fame, but there are many other oral tradition stories), which involves riddles that the audience answers with whatever makes sense to them! Love the interaction mid-telling. #glasgow @sundayassembly.bsky.social

Claire McNicol is an expert storyteller and starts talking about her Irish personal history and cultural exchange between Scotland.

Also shares about a nationally famous tree just down the street! Dark horse winner as its squeezed between 2 buildings.

Jess talks about the responsibility of the work. The sessions creating music with kids can open big emotions, and it requires care to manage. Same with @sundayassembly.bsky.social
enduringbeta.bsky.social
Jess leads kids in creating songs, and she plays one that they created together.

What they take away from the experience is usually not about the music itself. It's about the feeling of the space.

Lesson for @sundayassembly.bsky.social for sure. Music as excuse, as vehicle, to connect and feel.
