I think people may be reading your confidence as a complete unwillingness to hear someone out, but I feel you were genuine in listening to me here. This all gets so messy!!

I can only imagine how much that treatment can hurt, there is so much dehumanization that this machine can produce once people get certain about something. I'm sorry that you've had to see that and adjust accordingly, none of these disagreements can make a person deserve that.

I appreciate that! Because I think a good chunk of this response is more from "feeding the propaganda machine on X, priming cis people to feel justified saying that trans people can pay for their own decadent designer pussies" than the "no trans under communism" part

People say stupid things every day. But I think what people have a problem with is that this particular statement affirmed the perspective of people who are attacking access to trans surgeries, and it kind of sucks to see that from a trans woman with a large platform who has already had surgery.

The issue is not with what is in her heart. I don't care about her as a person, don't have any kind of opinion. But she made a comment which was widely understood to say something awful. Her response has been "what's the problem, I'm just a dumb girl!", and this makes me think it will happen again

But you're saying that the people objecting to her post are doing the TERF's work, and I don't think that's fair at all. This post might be feeding something that stops me and many other trans people from getting surgeries in the USA. This goes beyond dumb, and I think we have a right to be upset.

I'm glad she has been able to help so many, but it is really frustrating to see a trans woman with a large platform affirm the idea that trans healthcare is a luxury good, at a time when that perspective is feeding an assault on the availability of these surgeries.

Roméo Poirier has a really special one here, it's assembled entirely from recording session detritus across history, all the countdowns and checks and warm-ups, forming a music that was never supposed to be. It's such a strange perspective to hold as a listener, I highly recommend experiencing this.

You may be unsurprised to learn that there's slacker rock energy from a band called Guitar. Each track here seems to say "yeah, I'm not doing that" to something, and they're better off for it. Because there's plenty that they *do* want, and that includes some directly immediate songwriting.

Some lovely synths here from Leslie Garcia. Each track is 3 minutes and charts a linear path, which pushed me to listen in two directions: at the birth of new sounds, and the long tail accumulation of slow release and long attack. Very cool interplay between the two, wonderful impacts on melody.

The message of most reboots is "we did that thing you liked again! It's worse now 😃", but the return of Black Eyes feels different. There's more space, dynamics, longer songs, influences from the members' work of the past 20 years. It's a new chapter in their story, not just what they were again.

IFS continue their collaboration series, joining with AGF for some poetic speech & singing. The footwork-inspired production discombobulates in a way that fits the various sizes of space between words. There's something bizarre in how it feels similtaneously in/organic, it's like stones got anxious.

feeo has something that could be described as ambient pop, but each track brings something a little different to the table. It consistently feels like it is trying to avoid disturbing someone in a half-conscious state, as though that's the best equipped mind to put all this together. Very nice!

This new claire rousay is sold out on cassette, but still available via Bandcamp subscription. Two sidelong pieces collaging material from an extremely talented crew, arranged like a perpetual lap fade on a mobius strip, it has the strange movement and deep feeling that she does so well! Love it.

Snakeskin is the duo of Julia Sabra & Fadi Tabbal. The songs have a dreamy style, but there's little ambiguity in what's being said. There's times where it feels like the ambient hum of reality is amplified and painted somber, like the tears make watercolors. Truly stunning, highly recommended!!
