She Rides

She Rides into battle, sword drawn, pointed forward.

She rides

She rides toward an enemy attacking Her land.

She rides into the fray, pulling attackers off the vulnerable.

She rides. & she does not hide.

When it is over, she drops her sword and returns to planting seeds in Her garden

There are more of us than there are of them. Thank you for a truly historic day of peaceful protests across America. #NoKings

Trump posting a video of himself dropping a huge shit on America is probably the most accurate public statement he has ever made.
I think this is also a benefit to protests. The local police see how caring, patriotic, respectful and fun their community members are and it conflicts with the narrative of the propaganda. It humanizes people, they feel the good vibes and it solidifies community.

Folks who are rightfully frustrated at the indefensible NYT coverage, please do note: in terms of actually reaching people, this is way more important
I scrolled through the @1stforall.bsky.social's gallery of print front pages for local coverage of "No Kings" protests. Here are some of the standout papers, starting with the Daily Sentinel of Grand Junction, Colorado:

Retired Army Sgt. Brian Wofford spoke to me this morning at the Oklahoma City #NoKings protest. Didn’t expect him to be carrying his DD214 so I asked some warmup questions like when he got out and whether his injury was service-related.

He paused while describing the car bomb in Iraq to say this:

Thousands of people attended 'No Kings' demonstrations on Saturday in protest of the policies of President Donald Trump. Participants criticized everything from Trump's consolidation of power to his immigration policies to congressional apathy toward him. Here are reports from four protests.

MSNBC's Vaughn Hillyard noting that TV can't fully capture the scale of the "No Kings" protests: "Forgive us, we only have so many boxes we can fix on the television screen, we know these are happening ALL over the place..."

I lived a few miles away from Nanuet for many years, and this is beyond amazing. #NoKings
Insane.

Nearly *4,500* people turned out at the #NoKings event in Nanuet, NY, which beats the old record!

Every age, ethnicity, religion, gender and orientation was represented.

Here’s a quick drive-by of just one side of the rally.

More vids and pics to come!

Walking through the No Kings rally, and seeing it thousands of times over across the country, has me awestruck. So many Americans are ready to stand against corruption and fight for a lower cost of living. I’m honored to stand with them.
