I'm a bit poor at the moment so could only donate £10 for the 10th anniversary, but I'm leaving instructions for my AI consciousness to give £100 for the 100th anniversary.
Tomorrow is our 10th birthday and our community is taking over our channel for spooky games!

We're also raising funds for families in Jamaica, Cuba and Haiti affected by Hurricane Melissa

Those feels when the only TV show you watch all week has a commercial air promoting ICE, so you just quit watching. If I was the one paying for the service, I'd be cancelling it.

Happy to announce that my poem "Perish and Live Forever," which first appeared in MEXICANS ON THE MOON, has just won the @sfpoetry.bsky.social 's Dwarf Star Award for poetry. This award is for best micro poem of 10 lines or less. Many thanks to members who voted. It is a big honor. Much love!

Didn't play any video games for a week (combination of depression and trying to be productive), then saw Cyndi Lauper in concert. I was all set to jokingly complain that she didn't play The Goonies 'R' Good Enough, but it was the second song of her set. Started a replay the next day. Still a fave.

Are you really subjecting yourself to judgement if you're not including the amount of time you've spent in each game?

Terraria - 3.7h - (Unbeaten)
Myst - 54m - (Beaten) (other platform)
Half-Life - 22.6h - (B)
HL: Blue Shift - 23.1h (B)
HL: Opposing Forces - 5.4h (B)
Dear Esther - 12.7h (B)

Perfect example of why the anti-AI movement is seen as a joke, even though there are plenty of valid anti-AI points that need to be taken seriously. I could use AI for 16 hours a day and would still require CTE to degrade my brain to the level of this dumbass.
All the dire implications notwithstanding it is hilarious how evil this technology is. Billions of dollars spent on this greasy lying stupid thing that was literally built to replace people, and everyone that uses it gets weaker, lazier, dumber, and sadder for having done so. Well done all around.

It's kind of bizarre to me that I've yet to see a single intelligent take regarding AI. Surely not *everyone* on either side of the issue is a complete idiot, right?

Microsoft's 2-factor authentication screen has a link that you can use to verify that your 2-factor authentication details are current. The link requires 2-factor authentication to access.

If you'd asked me which septuagenarian, orange bigot should die, Hulk Hogan would have been my second choice.

The more I work with WordPress for a friend's site, the more I'm convinced the dead Internet is 100% caused by idiots building the content creation platforms. I used to dislike WordPress, now I actively hate the people responsible for it. Guess I'm going to have to build my own CMS again.

It turns out quite a few people do, in fact, need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. And they'll threaten to kill him if he doesn't say it's blowing in the direction they prefer.

Having 100%ed (the surprisingly relaxing) Crime Scene Cleaner, my favorite aspect of the game is the soundtrack, which contains songs by small indie musicians/bands from Poland (the dev's home country). Every indie dev should do this when possible/appropriate. (cc: @thoughtrise.bsky.social pls)

I would honestly like to know how many LLM/AI evangelicals also think Ancient Aliens is an educational program?
May 8, 2025 at 3:18 AM
When I heard Crime Scene Cleaner described as a cross between House Flipper and PowerWash Simulator, I was instantly sold. If I'd known the motivation of the main character is to pay for his daughter's life saving treatment that was denied by his insurance, I'd have started playing months ago.

Just finished my first playthrough of Watch_Dogs. Really enjoyed it. The use of licensed music, especially Ministry, for big fights was very well done. The Spider Tank mini-game is one of my favorite things ever. My only complaint is that you couldn't deposit money into the accounts of poor people.
