Very happy that this is finally accessible 😊

Beyond the amazing 3D models that can be downloaded in several formats, @leaveylab.bsky.social added lesson plans for using them in anatomy teaching.

We also detail the protocol for AI-based segmentation that I developed during my previous postdoc.

I refused to use "AI" to grade and I ended up spending more time marking submissions than the students did creating them

If students use ChatGPT to do their work, and faculty use it to grade and give feedback, then what is even the point? Why are any of us even there?

I hate this timeline

There should be a Year in Review for academics but it's all the papers you meant to read but didn't.

This semester I ran a class where we read recent papers in phylogenetics / systematics. I'd prepare an intro for each with background, then we'd dig in. I'd write a blog post after each as well. All the papers, slides and posts are now available at brianomeara.info/posts/phylop...

I just saw an advert on my timeline in which a PhD student is recruiting an unpaid intern to help them with their PhD.

Is that common in your field / country? Maybe I'm biased through my own past experience as a PhD student, but the whole idea of having minions as a PhD student feels wrong to me...
