articles that have been written with AI and as a journal editor it is something I screen for to evaluate the integrity of scientific submissions. If the references aren’t real, the backing for the scientific conclusions aren’t real, so the “conclusions “ are invalid. #MAHAisFalse

There is no world where the MAHA report can be scientifically valid. The “citation” errors are not formatting errors. They are fabrications, made because the generative AI used “hallucinated”. That’s when an AI model makes up something that “looks” real but it doesn’t exist. It has become common in
