Funny how long RPG Maker XP ruled in the west just because we didn't get VX (and maybe because the built-in graphics package, with its tall sprites etc., was a better fit for Western tastes in JRPGs?). From what I've seen of Japanese games it feels like VX took over as soon as it came out
