Oh, I agree! My point is more that no one around him seems to care about his health, and that MAGA’s lack of empathy extends to their own is astonishing.

It’s probably because I watched my father slowly deteriorate due to vascular dementia, but I can’t fathom how anyone is just letting him stand there. As much as I despise Trump, this is elder abuse.

Is this the flea market? It looks great!

Kimmel: "This show is not important. What is important is that we get to live in a country that allows us to have a show like this."

So Megyn Kelly is using her podcast for what sounds like thinly-veiled threats of violence.

When are Jay Roach and Charlize Theron going to apologize for Bombshell?

I don't like that I agree with Ted Cruz even remotely on something, but here we are.

Yes, kids can be annoying, and some spaces should be kid-free. But kids ARE people.

And I like dogs, but we need to be realistic here: Some people are allergic! Others are afraid, sometimes because of violent attacks. And frankly, a dog is often a bigger threat than a kid's tantrum.

I just saw a post on LinkedIn saying that dogs should be allowed in all the same spaces as babies. I might be unkind saying this, but that is one of the worst takes I've ever read.

I know we keep focusing on Colbert and Kimmel as we should, but we also need to remember there are hundreds of people who work for these shows who also just lost their jobs because of this bullshit, and most of them are probably not millionaires.

DC folks: WJLA is owned by Sinclair. If we want to make our feelings known to Disney, what might be even more effective than just canceling subscriptions is to contact local businesses that advertise there and tell them to pull ads. With that, do we have a list of local businesses that fit the bill?

I'm trying to cancel my Hulu subscription, but the service won't let me. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Question for DC residents: Does the DMV send you an updated license when you update your address? I haven't gotten anything from the DMV since updating mine, and I'd like to get a new one since the area I live in can sometimes be closed off.

Would be great if there was a famous actor who wanted to elevate important political stories right now.

RIP Robert Redford

We're witnessing the most aggressive, fanatical crackdown on free speech in my lifetime. The speed and breadth of government censorship and private sector and nonprofit capitulation has been astonishing. As has the lack of urgency/silence from people who've long claimed to care about this stuff.

Twitter MAGA response to shooter ID is "he was one of us until leftist university professors indoctrinated him into violent leftism," in case you're wondering where this is headed

Judging by the shamefully opportunistic & politicizing rhetoric of some rightwingers on Twitter, & their cynical use of Charlie Kirk’s horrific murder for political point scoring, it’s almost as if Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman wasn’t murdered by a Trump-voting MAGA maniac just 12 weeks ago.

Political violence is meant to scare and silence -- it is absolutely never acceptable. We don't have to agree with someone to affirm they have a right to speak their mind without fearing for their life or safety.

💯 this. One of the best takes I've seen.

We can, in fact, oppose ALL political violence, no matter the form, source, or reasoning.

Genocide (& supporting it) is bad.
Ethnic cleansing is bad.
Murdering people in a boat off Venezuela is bad.
Murdering people for Existing While Black is bad.
Shooting someone whose views are repellant is bad.

The MSNBC commentator saying that most political violence has historically come from the left just once again showed how we suffer from failing to learn history. Lynching, pogroms, race riots, the political violence that ended Reconstruction, and against the Civil Rights Movement. Come on.

The guns are the problem. Whether it’s high school students or Charlie Kirk or anyone else getting shot, this country has to crack down on guns and pass actual gun control laws to protect everyone’s safety.
