Happy Birthday to Eugene O’Neill, born in a Broadway hotel room in New York City in 1888. His plays were the first American tragedies, the first to incorporate slang, and the first to employ special effects such as dramatic lighting and masks.
Happy Birthday to Irish writer Oscar Wilde, born in Dublin in 1854. He said, "I think that God in creating Man somewhat overestimated his ability." And, "The only thing to do with good advice is pass it on. It is never any use to oneself." And, famously, "I can resist anything but temptation."
Story of the Day from StoryPeople
I can't believe these guys keep doing this, day after day, and no one seems to be able to stop them.

What the actual .....?
It’s the birthday of the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, born in Röcken, a village in Prussia (1844). His most famous book is called Thus Spake Zarathustra (1883). Nietzsche is famous for claiming that “God is dead,” but what he actually said is, “God is dead … and we have killed him!”
Four more days. Wear YELLOW and share the JOY of what it means to have "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Show your LOVE for America. See you Saturday!!
Know the largest anti-fascist organization?

"O Lord, support us all the day long, until the shadows lengthen, and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in your mercy, grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last. Amen."
Happy Birthday, Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese monk, writer, and activist born in 1926. Living Buddha, Living Christ. Since he was banned from Vietnam, he set up a monastic community in southern France, called Plum Village. In 2005, he was finally allowed to return to Vietnam for a visit. He died 2022.
It's a dog whistle to the J6ers to attack.
He sounds like a used car salesman.
Ah, it is so much easier to criticize someone else's behavior when we, ourselves, are behaving in exactly the same way. I feel so much better after my walk. Amazing how healthy behavior usually involves being away from a computer screen.
But, you did - start and be part of a pile-on. See how easy it is? We're all human. Time to move on. OBTW&PS: Leah identified herself as a former employee.
Hate America rally? What is that man smoking?
Substack apologized. Said it was a mistake. I have not encountered any of that, and I've been on Substack for 2 years. I was reacting to a disgruntled employee slamming her former employee publicly, and slammed her, too. I must have thought I was back on FB. I think you do, too. Enough. Move on.
I do. What I was objecting to was an obviously disgruntled employee slamming her former employer in public. I objected. Publicly. And, made it personal. I guess I thought I was back on FB and not BlueSky. No excuse. But, I suppose the pile-on will begin. Old social media habits die hard, I guess.
You're right. I felt she was slamming Substack, which I love, so I slammed her. Two wrongs do not make a right. BlueSky is better than that. Guess my old FB habits are dying hard. No excuse. I'll take my own advice and go for a walk and eat an apple.
See? You're doing exactly what I did. I felt Substack was being slammed. I defended it by slamming her. Not my best moment. You feel she's being slammed. You defended her by slamming me. So, off goes my computer. Out for a walk with me. I'll eat an apple. BlueSky is beginning to feel like FB.
He didn't. They only award it to people with integrity.
