I don’t think they have the spine for it, but without having a centerpiece forward, I don’t see how you build a contender. The best thing I think they can do is go to a bubble team (or the Canes) and say “give me a 1st, half your A/B prospects, and your best young goalie prospect” and then free fall

Alright I think we’ve hit the point where if the Flames want to become anything over the next half decade, trading Wolf is actually non-optional. Building a competitive team from what they have and retaining Wolf are mutually exclusive.
