1) Start with Vance. Use strong action verb. Accept the autocratic premise that the “Marines’ Might” are Vance’s to flex.
2) Mention the protest second and absurdly describe them as in the thousands
3) Treat Trump’s strong man use of the military as a partisan scuffle.

I still find myself wondering if Hamas didn’t conspire with Putin in launching the 10/7 attacks (which happened on his birthday) because they knew the resulting war would divide the West and distract people’s attention from Ukraine. Not saying that’s what happened, but I still wonder.

I wish some influential person had the guts to admit that Donald Trump is president because America is a sick, rotten society. One-third of voters chomped at the bit for how awful he’d be, and another third didn’t care or thought their “purity” was more important. Sane, decent people are a minority.

It’s a part that too many people seem to want to pretend isn’t there. So far, most of the takes I see in the media just blame the Democrats for not promoting the right policies or having the right messaging. Nobody seems to want to admit that Trump’s victory is a symptom of societal rot.

What people need to understand is that fascism itself may last a decade or two…or three…or more. We’ll begin to recover after it leads to this country’s catastrophic collapse and the morons who voted for this have no choice but to admit they brought it on themselves.
