It’s #WorldSnakeDay, and what better time to celebrate one of our favorite Rainforest reptiles? Red-tailed ratsnakes, in particular, are tree-dwelling creatures with a distinctive blue tongue.
Thank you to our week four guest instructors and presenters Clicbitz, CREATE at UC San Diego, and San Diego Coastkeeper. Students had fun learning how to protect our regional watersheds, sewing super hero capes, learning chemistry with foam creatures, and much more.
In our Voyagers of Flight #SummerCamp, students learned about the concept of flight from wildlife and the human voyage through the friendly skies. Through hands on activities they experimented with elements of flight – clouds, atmosphere, wind, and climate. Learn more about EIS at eisca.org.

A collaboration between EIS, OUTbio #SanDiego, and Ocean Connectors brought together high school students and STEM professionals to #kayak, remove litter, and network. Together they removed 86.9 pounds of litter from our local #wetlands!

We had so much fun at our alumni and sponsor appreciation event for Girls Take Flight #drone education and pilot training program. Graduates, current participants, lead instructors, funders, family members, EIS staff, EIS board members, and new friends all helped make this a memorable event.
Prior to summer camp, EIS and BIPOC Support Foundation learned with A-B-Cpr & First Aid Training Inc. Thank you so much to Marla and Adolfo for coming out and teaching these valuable #LifeSavingSkills so that we can be prepared to support our students.

EIS and the BIPOC Support Foundation learned how to work with neurodivergent youth through a training by Dr. Niki Elliot. Staff learned about heart-centered connections, #TraumaInformed Teaching, Social and Emotional Learning, sensory, movement, and more tools that support #neurodivergent students.
A fun fact about bees for #WorldBeeDay! No surprise that bees are innovative and intelligent at problem solving.

It was great to catch up with our neighbors Malcolm X/ Valencia Park Library San Diego Central Library and Jackie Robinson Family YMCA.
This weekend EIS was part of the Fleet Science Center National Science Foundation 75th Anniversary celebration and we loved every minute of it. Special thanks to our teen volunteers and staff who were there from set up to break down. We love our #SanDiego community!
These #MedicalStudents are helping shape the next generation with their stories, their passion, and engaging learning activities. We can't thank them enough for volunteering their time to visit EIS throughout the year. This program serves all fourth and fifth grade students in the Lincoln Cluster!
