been chipping away at it (and still not 100% there) but i've been working on 3.0 of my Eek avatar. Looks a lot sharper, nearly 1 to 1 with the 2D ref and somehow 2,000 less triangles than the previous. He's almost perfect 🐜❗

my method is insane and sucks but all shadows and differences in light are modeled on. Every texture has multiple variants of different shades to use.
