The Crapitol Vintage Political Satire Print
A timeless piece of American political satire from the 1970s that remains as relevant today as ever. Ralph Coffey's iconic "The Crapitol" reimagines Washington D.C.'s most famous landmarks in a wickedly clever commentary on congressional dysfunction. About the Artwork This provocative cartoon depicts the U.S. Capitol building transformed into an open toilet, with the Washington Monument serving as an unlikely toilet paper holder. Originally created during the tumultuous 1970s, this image has transcended political divides—published in periodicals across the political spectrum, from left-leaning alternative press to right-wing publications. Its final magazine appearance was in Slick Times under the title "Clinton's View of Congress," proving its enduring appeal to Americans frustrated with government regardless of party. Print Details Archival pigment print on Moab acid-free archival rag paper Printed with professional-grade archival pigment inks Size: 8.5" x 11" Museum-quality reproduction rated for 200+ years of light fastness Ships flat in protective packaging Ready to frame Why This Print Matters In an era of unprecedented political polarization, "The Crapitol" serves as a reminder that frustration with Washington is nothing new—and knows no party affiliation. This vintage satire speaks to every generation that's questioned what happens inside the halls of power. Perfect for political junkies, history buffs, cartoon collectors, or anyone who appreciates biting social commentary.

Well, a pleasant surprise from the Blacklist for “False Flag.” The 2nd 8/10 evaluation for the feature screenplay.

If you haven’t already, consider following our campaign on for issue 2 on @wearezoop.bsky.social. Visit zoop.gg/c/false-flag-2. You’ll be able to order issue 1 if you missed it.

When taking on a story as serious as “False Flag,” it’s harder to do some of the “gimmicks” to move a title. Considering a dramatically simple approach to issue 2 with just the single physical or digital copies at a lower threshold…although I do appreciate those out there who appreciate my work.

False Flag #1 is powerful. Dealing with the aftermath of a mass shooting and told in moody, rich black and white art. Check out the link below to catch up and/or continue the story.

I will say it has been hard to stay positive the last couple of weeks. It’s been busy but I will say I’ve been thankful to the folks sending me and my colleagues words of encouragement.

“I think we are in a new era, a new phase of the struggle where we have moved from a struggle for decency, which characterized our struggle for 10 or 12 years, to a struggle for genuine equality. And this is where we're getting the resistance, because there was never any intention to go this far.”

“The sense of disharmony is immediate: a familiar scene of youth and learning is grimly debased into one of peril. As the lockers surround you, their doors gaping, you feel caged: get me out of here. Moments later, as you enter the gymnasium, a two-minute countdown flashes on screen.”

Redrew a page that I felt worked better for the story. Will likely add what was here to a later issue (if it works).

I find myself often tinkering with a page air switching pages based on story. Any #comiccreators that do the same?

I am hunkered down getting FALSE FLAG #1 finished by the end of this month. The LA fires have slowed me down as I’m likely to deploy in support of cleanup efforts as part of my day job, so there’s a scramble to get it done and a cover of issue 2 included.
