How will you be celebrating their birthday?

I've been reading this for 28 years since I was 8.

It still influenced me and guides me.
On 21 September 1937: J.R.R. #Tolkien's The Hobbit was published.

The book tells of a hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, and his journey with thirteen dwarves to recover their treasure from a dragon, Smaug. It's sold over 100 million copies and is one of the best-selling books of all time. #BookSky

It's too expensive to fly there for me and I'm all out of time off from work 😭
I'll be online for it though.

'Woke up this morning with
a terrific urge to lie in bed all day
and read. Fought against it for a minute.

Then looked out the window at the rain.
And gave over. Put myself entirely
in the keep of this rainy morning'

On 15 September 1977: J.R.R. #Tolkien's The Silmarillion was published. Edited by Christopher Tolkien, the book details the entire history of the world before The Hobbit, and goes into the legends that underpin the entire mythology including the creation of the world. #BookSky

It's one of my favorite stories and I think the film did an amazing job of adapting it.

The anime style suited it really well and other than a few story choices I didn't like it was excellent

Why?

I've got to improve my blue sky feed.

Anyone got one of those packs of Tolkien accounts to follow things?

Happy Birthday to the brilliant Martin Freeman!
Perfectly cast as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit trilogy, the actor turns 54 today!

Fighting the post Oxonmoot blues, back to work doesn't feel right.

Need to keep myself (better) immersed in Tolkien as I've lost my way of late

Oxonmoot is always a highlight but I miss connecting with people

To the organisers to everyone who did a presentation, Thank you

I might have taken a tiny step into stewarding this year but it was barely a scratch in comparison to what a lot of those folk do.
