Im reviewing all rsch on teacher turnover & std achievement. Almost all studies find turnover affects ach (mostly negative) except for 1 guy who spent career arguing money didn't matter & then finally relented after it became obvious it did.

Instead of getting mad and banning 6-7 in schools, I would have leaned into it when I was teaching HS math. Anything to get kids to pay attention.
Harvard women’s basketball hosted 100s of elementary school kids at a game

They ran an extra play just to get the score to…67

Kids went wild

Researchers are gearing up to compare difference in death rates for people in MAGA counties and blue counties. Gonna get big at some point.
#ACIP just voted to scrap the universal hepatitis B birth-dose recommendation.

There is no new safety signal. No scientific rationale.

We are dismantling a 30-year-old, cancer-preventing policy that has nearly eliminated hepatitis B in U.S. children. 1/2
A panel that advises #CDC on vaccine policy votes to do away with the recommendation all babies should be vaccinated against #hepatitisB at birth. "We are doing harm," said panel member Cody Meissner, who voted against this #ACIP recommendation. www.statnews.com/2025/12/05/c...

But not as bad at messaging then Dem leadership. Worst group ever.
“Are you concerned #TN7 was closer than in the past?”

@RepTimBurchett (R): “Yeah. We have a real problem and we need to wake up… Republicans do a terrible job of messaging.”

Weird that "sleepy Joe" never fell asleep in meetings. Repeatedly.

The New Deal wasn’t built on a promise that there would be “no ceiling” for the richest Americans.

Quite the opposite, in fact. FDR knew its politics could only work if he singled out the rich as villains and knew that its policies could only work if the rich paid their fair share in taxes.

And this is so obnoxious because actual-politics is kind of a fucking layup right now.

Your opponents are running a historically corrupt government.

Be anti-corruption. Run on fixing the shit they broke, holding assholes accountable, and improving people’s lives.

Duh.

And provosts across the country just shrug and say, "Yeah, whats your point?"
It’s blowing my mind that schools, universities, public services would run headlong into this. We spent 15 years documenting black boxes. This is a black box in a black hole!
I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

This exact same discussion can be made about turnaround schools under Obama-Duncan. #EduSky
Let’s talk about “Move fast and break things.” First of all, Facebook itself changed its motto to “Move fast with stable infrastructure” in 2014. So much for breaking things, at least if you’re a soulless corporate behemoth.

These houses are 10-15 miles apart. Roughly same size. Both are nice but different styles. One is more than $200K than the other.

Mostly bcz it is in a well-funded, top school district. The other is not.
