It’s also really funny and charming. It’s got that Kimura flair in that it’s simultaneously incredibly baffling and very relatable.
Moon is absolutely peak video game. The most video game.
Linnaeus called them Nepenthes after a mythical Greek potion that cured sadness because he thought tropical pitchers were so amazing that if a botanist saw them, they literally couldn’t be unhappy. And I think that’s very sweet.
Took some snaps of of baby tropical pitcher plants today, before their lids pop open and they start eating stuff. Nepenthes! Gotta love em.

Is this actually a lemon drizzle cake. Maybe. It’s not important. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Don't worry. It's just a name."

"What he meant is that Monster Island
is actually a peninsula."

Hmmm, I dunno, seems pretty woke to me.

The internet probably had some impact on agriculture but I’m almost positive you can’t grow carrots in Internet Explorer.
Altman used a weird metaphor about how farmers would view what we do today as not real work, and then extrapolates that to the future but what’s weird is he seems to forget that farmers still exist today, and I don’t think their jobs are particularly threatened by AI.
don't worry, Sam Altman is confident that his efforts to eliminate vast numbers of jobs will all just sort of work out for the unemployed, eventually, possibly after they starve to death, which is technically a form of having it work out

Sam Altman Says If Jobs Gets Wiped Out, Maybe They Weren't Even "Real Work" to Start With
Worried that AI will destroy work? Well, Sam Altman asks if you've considered what a farmer from half a century ago thinks of your job, first.

Thankfully, this bubble isn’t supporting like a massive chunk of the economy of a very large country or anything so I’m sure this is all fine.
The taste is there, but it’s far too dense! Maybe next time.
It was dense as hell, but the price was still right. Stay tuned for tomorrow: I’m gonna make it again but with the actual proper ingredients!
Do you see how bad I fucked up?!
Forgot to put baking powder into the banana bread and created the world’s flattest loaf. I’m a FAILURE.

My favourite currently is a guy who has founded an AI powered ad agency and constantly waxes lyrical about the joys of working with Saudi Arabia.

Truly visionary stuff.
LinkedIn is home to some of the bleakest, most unintentional and funniest humour on the internet.
inspiring 💗💖
LinkedIn post about how a guy got a job interview at Strava by running a route that spelled HIRE ME on the map HIRE ME written on the map (looking more like HIRE NE tbh) commenter asks if the guy got the job and OP says “I don't think so. But his effort got him noticed and a foot in the door when so many others didn't”
Why do you think I repost this stuff!!!
Crazy to think that the modern incarnation of Batwoman was only introduced in 2006. Mark of a good character that it feels like she’s been around forever, I suppose.
Look at the arc from New 52 Batman through Metal then to Death Metal. Starts strong, the scope keeps increasing and then by the end it’s just lost all sense of place and purpose and it’s a shapeless “battle against evil” that isn’t as deep as it wants to be.
Well, I don’t know, maybe I do. He seems to have great concepts that play out over time, but he never quite knows when to stop cranking up the volume and intensity. Eventually it just devolves into meaningless noise.
