Me, about to not overdo it with Christmas decorations...
Finally crossed this off the watch list. It's a new restoration and looks pretty nice. It's a good drama and Chaney is amazing as always. This was MGM's first production ever, so it has lots of historical value too.
Highly recommended.

Finally crossed this off the watch list. It's a new restoration and looks pretty nice. It's a good drama and Chaney is amazing as always. This was MGM's first production ever, so it has lots of historical value too.

A great slice of renegade cinema. A young woman has visions of an egg, every time she closes her eyes; and then the egg begins to hatch. What I love about the film is that anything can happen and there are no familiar corners your mind can hide in. Some beautiful cinematography too.

I must confess that this didn't do much for me. If it was supposed to be a statement, the gore is too campy and the ending somewhat nonsensical. It has moments where you think it's going somewhere, but it kinda doesn't, and it's frustrating.

I decided to finally tackle this 200 minute arthouse mammoth. It's repetitive, ritualistic and quiet; and it's like that on purpose. That's what makes it art. That's what makes it interesting to watch. Delphine Seyrig is gorgeous, even when she's not playing a sexy vampire.

The second volume only contains 20 minute shorts, but they're very funny. The restorations are excellent. Unless you've seen these in the theater 90 years ago, you haven't seen them like this. "Dirty Work" is one of my favorite things they ever did.
