And in short, I was afraid.

Heck yeah. Sincerity can be painful and embarrassing. But it’s the only way anything ever changes.
After 2024, pundits brushed off the Resistance as cringe. I submit: Yes, it was. And cringe is good. Cringe, in fact, will save democracy.

Who robbed the Louvre? Right answers only.
I’m just blocking . . .
The opposite of doomscrolling: looking through all the photos of yesterday's #NoKings events. We are still Americans. We still remember what that's supposed to mean. youtu.be/ci-6Au1Gnrs?...

A friend I was marching with this morning said the same thing. We've never seen this kind of mass turnout in support of anything Donald Trump has done. The closest thing we've seen to anything like this was January 6.
This pic from Chicago today made me ponder how we see many enormous post-election rallies against Trump, but we never see enormous rallies *for* Trump. Sure, we see a score of people on the roadside with flags every so often, but nothing like this. Maybe he's just not as popular as he thinks he is.
I love that this is a rolling demonstration—as one group ends its march, another comes in for a rally. This is a relay, not a sprint. #nokings

A lot of confusion about the expectation that you’ll sit with strangers.
There was a line to get line numbers! I hope everyone behaves themselves . . .
Yeah, it’s sold out. Lots and lots of women in my age group, *many* of whom have never been to The Birchmere before. Kind of wish I’d worn my punk rock library T-shirt.
Oh, are you FREAKING kidding me?
It's official: Speaker Johnson just cancelled all votes in the House next week.

The next scheduled voting day is 10/27; the last time the House was in session was 9/19.
Wasting their time and our money. I don't blame them for needing the money, but it's a choice.
The photo in this morning's Athletic could have been taken six years ago, except for the uniforms.
