Kurt Schmoke, president of the University of Baltimore, has a new idea to help stabilize the embattled university: consolidation with Baltimore City Community College.

Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough said the only reason he’s included on a “Brady list” is a decades-old dispute over a $3 parking ticket violation from 1986.

All failed. Then, it burned.

An ambitious plan to redevelop what’s called the Superblock, an area of downtown Baltimore, has been stuck in the mud for a quarter century. Much of the area was razed after a fire last month.

Somerset County’s school board accused its superintendent of insubordination. She said the board chair threatened her before she left town.
