Sixers 30, Lakers 30 at the end of the first. Sixers started hot but are now shooting just 34.5 percent from the floor (and 4-of-12 from three). Embiid is 1-of-6 from the floor for four points.

Sixers went nine deep in that first quarter. Edwards (who aslso did not play Friday in Milwaukee) and Bona (not a huge surprise given Embiid is back) are the guys squeezed out for now.

One has to hope that moving the women’s tripleheader to the Palestra next year will come with a better marketing push to get women’s basketball fans in the city to show up.

Paul George has been upgraded to probable to play tonight vs. Lakers. It’s a chance to build on his terrific fourth quarter in Milwaukee.

After that game, he acknowledged needing out to drown out the outside noise that “You’re getting old, and you’re washed, and you can’t do it anymore.”
