a lot of this is rude snark and pretentious babbling but at its core i am just really sad that a show i used to like has been overtaken by studio-brained bad decisions and zionists and evil streaming service modules, and the legacy it's going to leave behind is one of mediocrity. and god that sucks.

i wanna state that im saying all of this as a former fan of the show. i loved season 1, i thought season 3 was very fun, i still like the good moments of season 2 despite rougher moments, but ever since season 3 ended i've been immediately aware that this was the inevitable conclusion of the show

-or long-lasting, you're just making the same shit that disney is making on D+, its disposable slop that everyone is supposed to get excited for and binge watch for a month and then move on. there's a reason ST isn't standing alongside the x-files or even supernatural. the longevity is gone.

and again, you are allowed to ignore the fundamentals and do something unique, it's very obvious that twin peaks has had a hand in the long list of inspirations for stranger things and lynch did this literally all the time, but when you're ignoring the fundamentals and NOT making anything quality-

-those films and shows they're "inspired by" are good. they think that having a "distinct" aesthetic and lovable characters is enough but having these things does not change the fact that basic fundamentals of storytelling and filmmaking are being ignored when working on this and projects like it.

i recognize stranger things has progressively abandoned its horror roots further and further with each season, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. alien and terminator both do this with their sequels and those films rule. the problem is stranger things also fundamentally does not understand-
