Ok I'm back.
Dead Island Riptide: Halfway through the game, I'm in Henderson. Story's been okay but not great, really wished they did more intergroup interactions. New weapons are kinda fun to mess with. Definitely would be more enjoyable in co-op!

Pokémon XD: Truhfully, I think the best part of XD is how it continued to expand and deepen the region of Orre but left cirtical questions: WHAT caused Orre to be caustic to pkmn habitats? What happened to your father? I wished for decades now for Game Freak to return to Orre in some way.

7: Oh yeah, Cipher considers destroying Citadark with you on it. Would've been a nice payoff from the tease we had in this earlier segment vs Gorigan. I'm not looking for Metroid but...have some fun?

6: Over the place but the Greevil twist was somehow less surprisingly more obvious than Es Cade when I was a kid. I hadn't even finished XD as a kid and could tell Verich (Greevil) was the bad guy from 1st appearance! At least Es Cade caught me off guard.

5: Circling back to Eldes, I feel this battle interaction should've happened sometime after your first meeting at Mt. Battle and Citadark there should've been a lower level battle. A character outline is there, it just needs a middle chapter of some measure!

4: For how cartoonish she is, Lovrina at least left more of an impression than either of the main 3 antagonists. Phenac guy and Headphones guy were also forgettable.

3: Ardos also doesn't do much either in story except aura farm and trash a mook (sorry, I mean Zook) early in the game. What dreams, world domination?

2: out of seemingly nowhere, Eldes is revealed to be Geevil's daughter. Where was this hesitation earlier in the game? Maybe the Phenac Op would make her concerned? This could have been an intriguing plot point for XD imo.

1: I wasn't expecting high writing for Cipher, but at least be consistent with characters. Greevil tells us pre-battle he doesn't want to rely on others yet here he is listening to Ardos and considering saving his subordinates. Did I hit him with Brick Break instead?

For the last area, I was not prepared for the time sink. The lack of a fly hm or similar fast travel made Citadark Isle a long trek. I wish we could have used Robo Kyogre more often because both robo pokémon are such cool ideas! Maybe a Robo Rayquaza for Air travel?

61hrs later, and I have finished Pokémon XD. Concerned I wouldn't survive the final boss with a full team of shadow pokémon but I got it first try!
Will write up a review on my fb account. Was a fun revisit from my childhood!

Biggest issue: Fighting types. Entire team is weak to it. Just had a colosseum match where my whole team couldn't move fast enough to get hits in besides Sharpedo.

I appreciated Innuendo Studios on youtube for catching me up to speed. Wasn't really aware of the whole series of events 2012-16 so it leading to Charlottesville was a shock. Also finding out how vitriolic and hateful spaces had become was disappointing.
