posts are by the lead organizer of a decentralized cold-hardy avocado breeding project in the Cascadian lowlands, based in West Seattle (Coast Salish land)

P.S. also a pro-butlerian-jihad account

It's been awhile since my last avocado-related post, but for anyone in the project area (hardiness zone 8b+ Cascadia), I've got a bunch of seedlings that are overdue for distribution and planting. Slide into the DMs if you wanna join the project!

I've started about 500 avocado seeds for this project, but this little seedling is pretty special. This was grown from the seed of the first (and so far only) avocado that has ripened on any tree in the project.

BREAKING: Following trial, Judge Karin Immergut, a Trump appointee, finds that Trump did not properly invoke federal law to call up the National Guard and "permanently enjoins Defendants’ orders to deploy federalized members of the National Guard to Oregon."

Nuremburg trials is the moderate position
He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

My latest about contingency plans (or lack of them) for increased ICE enforcement and/or National Guard deployment in Seattle.

If you've been hoping SPD might intervene on behalf of Seattle residents, you might want to read until the end.

if you see that AI-generated video going around, of some NYPD officer telling an ICE officer what he’s doing is against the law, one straightforward way to tell it’s AI is this will literally never happen

I'm sure someone else has mentioned this already, but does anyone else wonder if they are trying to spark food riots with the end of food bank support and food stamps?

Miller, Thiel, Musk, etc., are accelerationists and that's certainly one way to accelerate things...

Tonight I'm working on making a Halloween costume of my 4 year-old's second-favorite @benhatke.bsky.social character (for some reason she didn't want to be her favorite, which is the hill troll neighbor in Nobody Likes a Goblin)

Periodic reminder that this scheming half-wit Goebbels isn’t even a lawyer.
Stephen Miller on Fox threatens to arrest JB Pritzker for "seditious conspiracy" and says, "to all ICE officers: you have federal immunity in the conduct of your duties. And anybody who lays a hand on you or tries to stop or obstruct you is committing a felony."

Can everyone please get your normie friends to join signal for this kind of thing? Apple, Google, and now Meta have shown they will not allow you to organize your community on their platforms
At the request of the U.S. Department of Justice, a Facebook group used by nearly 80,000 people to report sightings of federal immigration agents in the Chicago area has been taken down by the social media giant Meta, Facebook’s parent company.
Facebook suspends popular Chicago ICE-sightings group at Trump administration’s request
The group, "ICE Sighting-Chicagoland," has been increasingly used in the last five weeks of President Donald Trump’s intense deportation campaign to warn neighbors that federal agents are nearby.
