They collaborated with colleagues at Mendel University in Brno on the CzechGlobe project, which focuses on drought monitoring and drought impacts.

While rains improved #drought conditions in isolated areas of the #Southeast, hot and dry weather prevailed over the region this week. Parts of Alabama and Georgia were hit particularly hard, with extreme drought emerging in Alabama.

The region’s recent flash drought has dried out peanut crops.
