I bless each morning that I wake up from the cocoon of death
to greet the new day;
I pray always
that this renewed opportunity
to spend more time
on the land of the living,
makes me more giving
more grateful,
more loving.

Science is a process, not a set of answers. Conclusions can (and should!) change with new data.

Thanks to technology, much of the data scientists use is now public!

In that spirit, check out this new live stream of a seismic station in Iceland! 🌋

Quick jaunt to the 1st recorded oil spring in the North America. Seneca Oil Spring in Cuba, NY.

The waters were once used by the Wenrohronon (Wenro) Natives for medicinal purposes.

Hilarious how my husband thinks he fixed the toilet running by pushing the handlenup; meanwhile I busted out the screwdriver and adjusted the float.

Allegany county, NW corner between Centerville and Rushford
About 1.25 hours south of you. But VERY worth it. A ton of DEC forests too.

Calling all biogeochemists! I am co-chairing this theme at Goldschmidt next year. We are looking for more sessions particularly on metabolisms of new phylogenetic lineages, evolution of microbial traits through time, or habitability and bio signatures in other planetary systems. Reach out! 🧪⚒️🦠
